about breakthru for adultsBreakthru is the Northern Carers Network support program for young people aged 7 - 18 who provide support for a loved one at home. The person being cared for can be a family member, or other person living in the home with a disability, mental or chronic illness. Brothers and sisters of young people with a disability or chronic illness are also welcome in the Breakthru program. The program itself offers support, counselling, information, advocacy and the chance for young carers to take a break from their responsibilities and connect with other young people who find themselves in similar circumstances. Breakthru provides support for all children and young people and we respect the communities in which they live.
